Built to help people get it right, first time
In 2018, SkillsBase was established by Mark Horgan with the aim of helping businesses improve communication, engagement, and learning among their stakeholders, to enhance workplace compliance.
What started as a mobile-first installation training app for one of Europe's largest telecom component manufacturers has grown into an industry-agnostic platform trusted across telecoms, utilities, sport, and education.
How we've grown, year by year
SkillsBase founded
Established by Mark Horgan to develop a mobile-first installation training app for a major telecom component manufacturer with globally dispersed end-users.
Collaboration with Openreach
After the initial app's success, the UK's largest telecom operator approached us to reskill engineers without pulling them from the field.
Remote reskilling success
As remote reskilling became the norm, our app gained significant traction, enabling engineers to obtain accreditations remotely.
Introduction of the Virtual Buddy
We developed our Computer Vision AI tool, providing immediate feedback on work quality to reduce revisit costs and enhance satisfaction.
Expansion to new sectors
Realising the technology is industry-agnostic, Munster Rugby became one of the first non-telecom adopters, followed by education and enterprise training.
Recognition & certification
Awarded the Smart Technology Innovation award and granted ISO 27001 accreditation, highlighting our commitment to information security.
Award-winning innovation
We created the Splice Fault Detector, which won a prestigious Red Dot Award for product design, setting a new standard for fibre splicing.
